Our eco-adventure begins with a leisurely hike to the hilltop of Pyrgos village in Heraklion, overlooking the valley and then to the village of Pyrgos discovering the local surroundings. Your expert guide, Manolis will point out the diverse native flora along the way, bringing the botanical wonders to life. Then, roll up your sleeves and get hands-on with sustainable farming as we nurture the land together. Depending on the season and timing of your visit, you may help prepare seeds, practice regenerative techniques, or plant new crops. The sustainable practices take place according to the seasonality and thus you’ll learn how to holistically care for the agricultural land. Afterwards, you will gather round the farm table to cook a delicious meal with just- picked organic ingredients. Share stories, laughs, and good food as you savor the bounty of the land. During the meal the Kainourgiakis Family Winery will grace us with their presence. Indulge in tasting their exquisite organic agriculture wines while immersing yourself in the rich tapestry of their winemaking tradition.
